Sailboat

This was a real challenge for me. As an oil painter, doing a background is very easy. But, not so in colored pencil and I admit I struggled. But, this was a picture I took on a boat ride with a friend in the fall of 2019 and have been working on it for weeks. The first 3 drawings are in the trash as the sails looked awful. I have not mastered the sails – YEA and proud of them. but, the water and sky…the next painting will have both looking great.

This piece does not come with a frame. It does include a double matted archival mat.
